Rogers Weed |
Rogers Weed is an investor with CleanTech companies. He was previously Director of the Department of Commerce for Washington State where he led an agency of over 100 programs with nearly $1B annual spending, including international trade, business recruitment, energy policy, and infrastructure investment programs. Most recently Rogers was Vice President of Product Management at Doosan GridTech, an energy storage and software controls provider to electric utilities, and with Microsoft Corporation in a variety of business and management roles. He was also a member of a clean tech startup in Seattle named 1Energy Systems, making software control platforms for large battery systems. Rogers chairs the board of Building Changes which works on homelessness in Washington State and recently was Board Chair of the Technology Alliance, an economic development group focused on the Washington State innovation economy. He is a graduate Duke University and earned an MBA from The Wharton Business School. Rogers and his family live in the Seattle area and he enjoys running, golf, tennis and crossword puzzles.

Heather McMahon |
Heather McMahon is a Department of Defense Senior Executive and manages Maker Movement Network direction, strategy, and outreach. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, she served throughout the U.S., the Pacific region, Europe, Bosnia, and Afghanistan, including in Airborne units where she qualified as a parachute Jumpmaster. Now retired from the Army, Heather continues to serve the Department of Defense as a Senior Executive and is currently detailed to the White House as a Senior Director at the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board. Heather is an expert leader, strategist, problem solver, and connector. Her experience across the private and public sectors make her uniquely qualified to bring together technology, systems, and organizations. She is leading the Maker Movement Network in a private volunteer capacity.

Nicole Piasecki |
Nicole Piasecki is the Chairman of Seattle University’s Board of Trustees. She recently retired as vice president and general manager of the Propulsion Systems Division of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. With this role at Boeing, Nicole was responsible for engine and propulsion systems strategy, procurement, contracting, engineering and manufacturing integration for all commercial airplane programs as well as support for more than 12,000 in-service aircraft. Nicole also served in a variety of other leadership positions during her 23-year career at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, most recently as vice president of Business Development and Strategic Integration. Nicole served in several other key executive roles for Boeing including President of Boeing Japan, SVP of Business Strategy & Marketing for Commercial Airplanes, Vice President for Sales for Leasing Company customers. Piasecki played an instrumental role in the investment in Boeing product line including the launch of the 787 Dreamliner. She earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Yale University and a master of business administration degree in operations management from Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania, which included studies at the Keio Business School in Japan. Piasecki has served in several government capacities including the Federal Aviation Administration’s Management Advisory Council, chair of the safety subcommittee of the Future of Aviation Advisory Committee, and on the board of directors of the Seattle Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Nicole is a director at Weyerhaeuser Co., British Aerospace Systems PLC, Howmet Aerospace, Saltchuk Resources and a director of The Stimson Center, a non-profit, non-partisan think tank in DC. She is also an advisor to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Tokyo.
She also has a single-engine pilot’s license, is married and has three sons. |
Harvey Rishikof |
Harvey Rishikof is the Chair of the American Bar Association Standing Committee on Law and National Security Advisory Committee Chair. He is the former dean of the National War College in Washington, D.C., where he also chaired the department of national security strategy. Mr. Rishikof was a senior policy advisor to the Director of National Counterintelligence, ODNI, legal counsel for the deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Dean of the Roger Williams School of Law. Currently, he is an advisor to the Harvard Law Journal on National Security and serves on the Board of Visitors at the National Intelligence University. Harvey is a Member of the National Academy of Sciences Commission on Law Enforcement and Intelligence Access to Plain Text Information in an Era of Widespread Strong Encryption: Options and Tradeoff. He has co-authored The National Security Enterprise: Navigating the Labyrinth; Patriots Debate and A Playbook for Cyber Events.

Philip Niedermair |
Philip Niedermair is the Managing Director of Strategic Alliances, Whiteford, Taylor Preston. He is a native Scot a “Highlander by the grace of God,” with an American soul. As Managing Director of Strategic Alliances, Philip develops and nurtures high value relationships, builds synergy and identifies marketplace opportunities for clients, allies and friends throughout the U.S. and worldwide. He is also CEO of the National Cyber Group, was one of the founders and Managing Partner of The Bridge Alliance, and CEO of Metrum Group. Philip has a proven record advising senior leaders in a wide range of industries and consulting roles. He is skilled in multiple executive positions including building and recruiting teams, sales, marketing, strategic planning, negotiations and research throughout the US and worldwide. He sits on or advises 12 boards ranging from the Army Cyber Institute at West Point & The Eisenhower Memorial Presidential Commission, University of Baltimore, Historic Ships of Baltimore and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Philip is an aficionado for strategy, problem solving, Eisenhower, LaFayette, global history and culture. He is passionate about Scotland, Rugby, Glasgow Celtic FC, dogs and cats, music, fast cars, superb food, ships, the sea, boating, the arts, and a good fireplace. Philip’s most important role in life is as a perpetual student of life and a father.

Chris Nissen |
Christopher Nissen is currently Director of Asymmetric Threat Response & Supply Chain Security at the MITRE Corporation, a not-for-profit which operates and manages seven Federally-Funded R&D Centers (FFRDCs) serving in the National Interest. He has 30 years of experience in developing solutions for extremely complex national security challenges. In his current role, he works across the corporation developing essential strategic elements to address non-kinetic, full-spectrum asymmetric threats to national security both in the public and private sectors. Three of the primary attack vectors utilized by these threats are supply chains and cyber/human domains. Chris has developed extensive work programs in these and other domains across the technology, policy, and legislative solution spaces. Chris has also served as Director of the Communications and Networking Technical Center, leading a division of over 230 engineers in a diverse portfolio of programs and technology development spanning microelectronics to satellite communications. Some of his accomplishments include putting forth an original vision for the development of an anti-jam capability for the nation’s Global Positioning Satellite system, and the development and implementation of several special communications techniques. He holds BSEE and MSEE degrees and has also has a background in structured analytical techniques. Chris is the lead author of the report “Deliver Uncompromised, A Strategy for Supply Chain Security and Resilience in Response to the Changing Character of War”.

Paul Michaels |
Paul Michaels is the Senior Vice President for Security and Chief Security Officer at Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions in Arlington, Virginia. Paul has over 20 years experience working within the U.S. defense sector helping businesses smartly achieve their business objectives and financial goals. Paul also serves as Chairman of the InfraGard National Insider Threat Mitigation Cross-sector Council. InfraGard is a public-private partnership with the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security with over 62k members nationwide that focuses on protecting US critical infrastructure. Paul has served on multiple boards to include the National Board of Directors for the InfraGard National Members Alliance. He is a National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Governance Fellow, holder of NACD’s prestigious Directorship certification, and has completed the NACD sponsored CERT Cyber Risk Oversight Certificate program. Paul is a graduate of American Military University (AMU) with a master's degree in Security Management and has taught security management courses at AMU. He holds numerous security certifications (CISSP, CPP, PSP, PCI, ISP) and currently serves as a member of Montreat College’s Cyber Security Advisory Council. Paul is a former medic and U.S. Army veteran.
